The microbrewery Le Grimoire now offers a wide variety of beers, one more surprising than the other, which are now distributed in all regions of Quebec and even in Europe. The master brewer can infuse up to 38,400 HL per year from the installation of the brewery at the new factory. The microbrewery also has a pub-style restaurant known for its great ease of use. It includes a menu that goes perfectly with the beers. The whole will surprise more than one! The adventure began in 1996. The trio of Sébastien Dancause, Steve Dancause and Mario Lapointe have always felt a great passion for beer. This passion, moreover, quickly led them to undertake for the first time an artisanal load at home. In March 2004, Sébastien saw an advertisement informing him that a microbrewery was selling its equipment in order to renew it. The plan to found a microbrewery has thus become a reality. The trio decided to buy this equipment without even targeting a place to operate their future business. It was later that the trio added a fourth essential element, in this case the Dancause's uncle, Michel Thibodeau. The latter showed significant skills in welding and construction. A force to consider for the renovation of a business! It was from this moment that the four musketeers left in search of a place to brew their beer. They made their choice on the building located at 223 rue Principale in Granby. The proximity to the city center, After two years of operations, they decided to buy this building. From that moment, more than 100 points of sale became available for the purchase of Grimoire beers. After only five years of operation, demand continued to increase. The desire to consider 400 outlets and start exporting to Europe materialized. September 30, 2013 was a milestone for Le Grimoire. The team had to accept the death of Michel Thibodeau who was not only a partner, but a true member of the family. The trio bought Michel's shares and continued on their way. In 2015, it was time for Le Grimoire to take the next step. The purchase of a factory located at 1546 rue Principale in Granby, which made it possible to plan a new, much grander brewery, was concluded. After a year of effort, 1546 rue Principale is now considered the heart of production. You can find a shop selling beer, promotional items and raw materials and equipment for apprentice brewers. Eventually, a tasting room will be open to the public. Future projects are to break into international markets and continue to increase sales outlets throughout Quebec. Cheers!
