1st Republic Brewing Company (1st RBC) is Veteran owned and operated by Shawn Trout and Mike Drake. Both Mike and Shawn served our great country on active duty, as well as, the Vermont Army National Guard. Both served with distinction overseas in Iraq and Afghanistan. Shawn was stationed in Colorado Springs and deployed with both the 2nd and 4th Infantry Division’s and after his second tour overseas to Afghanistan he decided it was time to come home. Mike served with the 3rd ACR and then deployed with VT’s TF Saber with the 2BCT/28ID (PA NG). Mike was on the hiring committee of a local military contractor that helped bring Shawn back to VT. They became great friends and today are expanding their business. We love beer. We love to brew it; we love to drink it, we love to teach others about it. Nothing represents a gathering of true friends like a raised pint of cold beer. Because you deserve the best, we’re creating some of the best Veteran crafted brews in the area!
